Drone strikes on Abyei market and mourners kill well over 100

A drone strike on a market and fuel depot in Abyei, the region disputed by Sudan and South Sudan, killed around 150 people according to several reports, with other counts ranging from 53 to 220. BBC sources said army drones hit a market alleged to supply the RSF and a truck carrying mourners, killing more than 300 in total. South Sudanese officials blamed Sudan's army.

Why it matters: The strike is among the deadliest single attacks of Sudan's war and risks drawing South Sudan further into the conflict.
